In 1976, the first ever Formula 1 race in Japan was held at Fuji Speedway.
In the Japanese Grand Prix, which was the final race of the year, J. Hunt in a McLaren M23 and N. Lauda in a Ferrari 312T2 battled for the championship in heavy rain. J. Hunt finished third, winning the championship by a single point in a dramatic comeback.
Almost 50 years have passed since then, but seeing this machine still brings back memories of that time and makes me feel nostalgic. I was also absorbed in building Tamiya model kits.
The item has been carefully stored at home, but as it is old, there are some scratches on the case and yellowing of the base due to aging. The car body appears to be in good condition.
