First Press LP! Rare! "The Sounds of Yusef" successfully broke new ground among his works of the late 50s. Many songs show an Eastern tendency in terms of rhythm and instrumentation, but the album as a whole is firmly rooted in the jazz tradition.

■Condition of the Record and Jacket■
This LP has two signatures by Yusef, one on the label of the record itself and the other on the back cover. The LP is also a promo copy, with a promo stamp on the upper right. The LP itself is VG- due to light hairline scratches from previous use. It was probably a copy played at a radio station. However, the fact that Yusef signed this LP twice (see photos) makes it a collector's piece more for collecting than for playing. The jacket is VG+, and the record surface is VG- as mentioned above.
