This 8”-diameter pad is designed for use on Hutchins Model 2001 “Eliminator” Series sander/polishers, and features a raised 5/8”-11 internal thread which screws directly onto the unit without the need for an adapter. A hard plastic backing and a thick foam face combines durability and flexible support for refined scratch removal and deep polished finishing. Working with the sander’s high-torque 18:1 gear reduction, the pad is ideal for sanding and polishing a variety of substrates including aircraft aluminum. A very broad hole pattern extends from the center hole to the edges of the foam. These holes provide an additional escape route for dust, helping to evacuate it from the disc surface for reduced loading and longer abrasive life.About the Hookit Attachment SystemThe pad also allows technicians to instantly equip the sander with the 3M Hookit attachment system, making abrasive disc changeouts fast and easy. The Hookit hook-and-loop feature makes for fast and easy attachment, removal and re-attachment of abrasive discs, and facilitates use and re-use of individual discs for the highest material cost efficiency. Hookit discs have brushed nylon loop backings that instantly grip the J-shaped hooks on Hookit disc pads and hand tools. It’s simple: just slap the disc on and start sanding. Discs remove just as cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life.
