From the Manufacturer The 3M™ Roloc™ TP Disc Pad optimizes the performance of Roloc TP discs by providing the right backup system and a secure attachment for grinding applications. Plus it saves time by eliminating the need to align edges of the disc with the disc pad—the button aligns the disc, making disc changes quick and easy. The level of hardness needed is dependent on the task—choose a higher density for more aggressive applications and a lower, more flexible density for less aggressive applications—and is also dependent on the user’s work style. Use these disc pads with any drill, disc sander, right angle grinder, or rotary sander with a same size external thread. Disc pads with 1/4-20 internal threads may be mounted to collet chuck tools with Roloc Shank 45102 (not included). The disc pad (also called a backup pad) interlocks with the sanding disc and is attached to a rotary tool. This simple assembly provides a secure attachment that is reliable even when working at high speeds.
