This is a German-made raincoat, locally made for the US military around the 1960s.
A very rare product.
US military units dispatched from German bases to Southeast Asia often had local tailors custom-make rain jackets from rubberized ponchos for wear during the cold and rainy monsoon season in Vietnam.
The outer material is a repurposed 50s/60s rubberized poncho shell, and the lining is wool blanket.

The front pockets are also lined with wool, and the hood has ventilation on both sides, making for a very elaborate construction.
The subtle two-tone of the wool lining on the hood and body, and the exquisite color of the satin on the sleeve lining are also nice.

There is the unique aging seen in old rubberized items, but it doesn't feel dirty and I think it functions as a design.
Without a doubt, it's a cool vintage piece to wear.

I think it's a very valuable piece, not only as a collector's item, but also as real clothes.
