70s US Navy A-2 Deck Jacket with TALON Zipper

US NAVY A-2 Deck Jacket.

This is a late-model A-2 jacket from 1974 (DSA100-74-0241). The A-2 was adopted before the N-1 deck jacket, and this item features a cotton shell combined with a wool lining, offering an excellent balance of warmth and mobility. It's equipped with a TALON zipper, and the front has a double closure with buttons and a zipper. Faint stencil marks can be seen on the back, giving it a military feel. Although the size is marked as SMALL, it fits like a men's M based on the actual measurements. Compared to the N-1, the A-2 is less common, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to find A-2 jackets in good condition these days.
