A13 Cruiser Mk IVA (Desert)

British Cruiser tanks were engineered for battlefield maneuverability, operating independently of infantry. Their speed allowed Cruiser Squadrons to swiftly exploit battle opportunities and breach enemy lines, echoing the tactics of British heavy cavalry. Initially, A9 Cruiser tanks dominated, but later models like the A13 Mk IVA replaced them. This uparmored version of the A13 Cruiser Mk II boasted 30mm of armor without compromising performance, thanks to its excellent power-to-weight ratio. Additional armor was added to the nose, glacis, and turret front, along with a distinctive V-shaped turret plate. Later production vehicles featured a Besa co-axial machine-gun, and a CS version with a 3.7" mortar was also produced.
