An adjustable film applicator is used to achieve uniform film thickness on a flat substrate.Due to the adjustable gap, it can reduce the need for various fixed gap applicators.The gap can be set between 0 and 3500 microns, and the bottom edge of the scraper scrapes approximately half of the wet film thickness of the gap.The adjustable film applicator has multiple film widths to choose from, with widths ranging from 5 to 30 cm.The applicator has an extended edge that allows the coating to be retracted during the coating process, allowing for manual application of high concentration and viscosity liquids on a solid and flat substrate.How to operate:Place the applicator on a completely flat test surface. Adjust the scraper to the required clearance; It should be twice the required wet film thickness.Pour a small amount of test sample between the end plates in the front section of the coating knife. Move the instrument on the surface at a slow and uniform speed (approximately 1-2cm per second) until the liquid has been fully coated and/or any remaining liquid has been removed from the end of the coating path.The exact proportion of wet film thickness relative to any coating knife gap depends on the material used, the viscosity and texture of the liquid, the force applied to the coating knife, the coating speed, and the geometric shape of the coating edge.The actual applied wet film should be measured using a wet film thickness gauge and the gap adjusted until the required wet film thickness is achieved.Maintenance and upkeep:After each use, immediately clean the instrument with an appropriate solvent.The two ends of the scraper move in the groove, and the groove must be kept free of test sample material at all times.
