Antique German Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) coffee or chocolate pot, dating to the turn of the 20th century, circa 1895–1910. This example is engraved on the front with the pattern or line name "Grand Duchess."
The pot is constructed of nickel silver (also known as German silver or alpacca) and marked "Silver Soldered" on the base, indicating traditional silver-bearing soldered seams rather than sterling content. This was a high-quality construction method commonly used for European hotel, café, and service ware of the period.
Features a tall cylindrical form with elegant proportions, original ebonized wooden handle, gently curved spout, and decorative applied bands at the rim and base consistent with Jugendstil design.
