Rare, antique blue and white Waectersbach porcelain butter or aspic mold with a scalloped border.
7 inches long by 4.25 inches wide by 3.25 inches high. Fully functional.
Made in Germany between 1897 and 1903. Bears both the impressed beehive mark and the Ysenburg coat of arms — between swans heads—substantiating date of manufacture.
Two holes in the base for hanging.
An early example of Waectersbach’s innovative color underglazing technique; they were the first porcelain manufacturer to develop this in 1897.
A small hairline crack at the top edge on one side. See picture. One chip on the exterior of the outer rim. See picture.
