This is a lovely Aynsley China, Longton, Staffordshire, England, bell made for the Danbury Mint Bells of the World's Great Porcelain Houses collection.
The bell shows the influence of the late 17th-century Japanese master potter, Kakiemon, whose style was distinctive in its use of soft shades of blue and green, orange-red and translucent yellow. His delicate designs never covered the entire surface of the piece -- in this case allowing a lovely contrast with the pure white of the Aynsley china. The floral and butterfly motif is complemented by graceful, low relief trim around the bell's top and rim.
Perfect addition to any bell collection or wonderful host/hostess gift for Thanksgiving or Christmas!
