Blossoming Gears by Andrew Reach

In 'The Blossoming', gear-like shapes arise from the intersections of six small circles encircling a larger one. An unseen hexagonal honeycomb structure organizes the circles. The smaller circles' centers sit at each hexagon corner, with the larger circle centered within. Intersecting circles cut away scalloped pieces from the large circle, forming gear-like objects. These modules repeat, leaving three-spoked elements between them. Gears are randomly highlighted in black and white, with a color gradient flowing across the composition.
