Brahms: Piano Concertos (Vinyl) / Brahms: Piano Concertos (Analog LP) [Import]
Price: ¥7,690
From the January 2024 live performance celebrating Zubin Mehta's 20th anniversary as Honorary Conductor of the Munich Philharmonic, featuring Yefim Bronfman as soloist, comes a deeply moving and powerful performance of Brahms' Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2. This is a limited edition release on 140g analog LP record.
Zubin Mehta has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the Munich music scene. Mehta has cultivated a deep artistic relationship and friendship with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra for decades. Since conducting his first concert with the orchestra in 1987, Mehta has regularly appeared as a guest conductor, and in 2004, he was appointed the orchestra's first and only "Honorary Conductor." In 2024, twenty years later, the orchestra celebrated this momentous anniversary with a Brahms cycle featuring two piano concertos and four symphonies performed by Yefim Bronfman, one of today's most highly acclaimed and respected pianists.
The live performance of the piano concertos has been released on CD. Bronfman, who frequently performs Brahms' concertos with various conductors, says, "When I think of Brahms, I think of natural landscapes, mountains, green valleys, beautiful panoramas, and the incredible grandeur of these things." The performance features a classically light touch in No. 1, and the exhilarating speed of the difficult No. 2, resulting in a deeply moving and powerful performance of Brahms. This is a limited edition release on 140g analog LP record.
