British Army 50's MIDDLE PARKA (Middle Parka) 3rd Late Model

This is a "MIDDLE PARKA," a legendary item in British military history, inspired by the U.S. military's "M-51 PARKA," famous as a mod coat used during the Korean War in the 1950s.

This is a late-model 3rd model, born in 1953, featuring four front pockets, a detachable hood, and made of cotton satin.

The front can be opened and closed with a zipper and buttons. The four pockets have button-closure flaps, and the left chest pocket includes a pen holder. Raglan sleeves are used, providing a beautiful drape and allowing for easy movement of the shoulders and arms.

The Middle Parka, designed to be worn over a field jacket called a combat smock, is a cold-weather specification. It features a heavy cotton satin outer fabric with fading and wear, and a thick boa lining on the inside. The cuffs have ribbed inner cuffs for high heat retention. The sleeve ends have adjusters for a better fit.
