The 2-Axis CNC-Ready Machine Slides are primarily crafted from 6061-T6 aluminum, finished in black anodizing. Slides with steel parts feature ground dovetails. The table measures 8 x 2.75 inches, with options for inch or metric leadscrews. Precision-rolled steel leadscrews and under-table table screws are included. Handwheels are graduated in .001 inches or .01 mm, depending on the slide type. Stepper motor mounts for NEMA 23 motors are provided. Manual operation is not possible until stepper motors are installed. Mounting can be done from the bottom using 1/4-20 holes or from the top using angle clamps. Weight capacity is approximately 10 lbs., depending on table length and weight location. Under heavy use, the dovetail area may show wear after 2080 hours, but functionality remains. Lubrication with light oil extends dovetail and screw life. Leadscrews have hardened, rolled threads, and brass backlash nuts that wear out and need adjustment or replacement after the same duty cycle. Avoid using WD-40 as a lubricant.
