The sturdy film backing provides the durability needed for a high-production environment, and its excellent resistance to edge tearing increases the life of the disc over discs with standard A-weight paper backings. At the same time, the film backing provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer. Used with a vacuum system, the Clean Sanding multi-hole pattern provides excellent dust extraction and eliminates the need to line up dust-free holes. To further reduce loading on the disc, the disc has open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. The convenient Hookit hook-and-loop attachment on the disc backing enables easy re-use so the disc can be used again and again for the life of the product. It attaches to a low-profile 3M™ Hookit™ Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander.
