E382 machine taps are part of Dormer's "Shark line" range – with colour coded rings making it easy to work out the material they cut. With a blue ring on the shank, the E382 taps have been designed specifically for creating threads in stainless steel. Conforming to the German Institute for Standardization, the taps are manufactured from powder metal High Speed cobalt to give a superior performance and extended tool life, whilst the steam tempered finish prevents work piece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the tool, so creating a cleaner, more accurate thread. E382 taps for blind holes create British Standard Pipe fastening – G series threads in six sizes from one eighth of an inch to one inch.
