Dormer E7121/8 Series E712 HSS NPTF Straight Flute Hand Tap, Bright Finish, 1/8"-27 x 70mm

E712 hand taps are used to create NPTF threads (National Pipe Tapered for Fuels) conforming to ANSI (the American National Standards Institute). They are manufactured from High Speed steel, giving you a longer tool life and good performance. The bright finish on the taps helps prevent workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the tool and so you get a cleaner, more accurate thread. With a straight flute design, the taps can be used to efficiently thread both through and blind holes. E712 taps are very versatile and can be used to create NPTF threads in a number of materials, including steels, aluminium and stainless steels.
