This shoe is inspired by "furlane," a type of shoe made by farmers in the Friuli region of Italy during wartime shortages, where they recycled readily available materials.
Historically, old clothing fabrics and velvet were used for the upper part, and old bicycle tires were repurposed for the soles. Today, natural materials are used for the upper and lining, and the outsole is carefully stitched together by artisans without the use of glue.
