A manufacturer of educational scientific equipment is producing pre-printed glass microscope slides with infrared-curable ink. After ink curing, the slides and conveyor become too hot for safe handling. Initially, five fans were used for cooling, but their turbulent airflow proved ineffective. Now, the customer employs an EXAIR solution: a Model 110003 3" (76mm) Aluminum Super Air Knife to blow onto the slides and conveyor post-curing, and a Model 3230 Vortex Tube to cool the conveyor bed. The goal was to reduce the temperature from 300F to 110F within 10 feet of conveyor travel, which was successfully achieved.
