Wolfgang Joop worked as a designer for Yves Saint Laurent and others before starting the brand JOOP!. He sold the brand in 1998 and launched the label "Wunderkind Art" in 1999. He has a strong interest in art and is also a collector of contemporary art. In Germany, he is a famous designer alongside Jil Sander, the founder of Jil Sander, and Karl Lagerfeld.
