Fleet's Chap Stick (Lip Balm) Rare "Push Up" Metal Tube Container Authentically From The Late 1950's Or BeforeThis rare "push up" metal tube container (package) listed and shown here for the brand now marketed by Pfizer as Chap Stick Lip Balm dates from the late 1950's or before. Here's something of its genealogy.Chap Stick was developed by C.B. Fleet, a Lynchburg, VA pharmacist who started the independent company still operating today that bears his name. (That's why the container reads "Fleet's Chap Stick.") "Doctor" Fleet, as he was known, sold the brand for $5.00 and "other considerations" in January of 1912 to John T. Morton, his friend and neighbor. Mr. Morton retained "Fleet's" as a part of the identification of the product he then sold for over fifty years through the Chap Stick Company which he organized and operated as part of his own Morton Manufacturing Company.
