Flying Lemur Skull, Colugo by Bone Clones

Not much is known about these peculiar nocturnal creatures, colugos, weighing between 2 to 4 pounds. Once mistakenly believed to be related to lemurs, they are still commonly, but incorrectly, referred to as flying lemurs. Colugos are gliding mammals in the order Dermoptera, characterized by large, membranous skin flaps called patagia between their limbs, enabling them to glide up to 350 feet between tree tops. These flaps also serve as a 'blanket' for sleeping and a rudimentary pouch for mothers carrying young. Colugos have unique dentition, with lower incisors resembling hair comb teeth and no upper incisors, used for specialized feeding and grooming. They play a significant role in the diet of the critically endangered Philippine crested eagle, with their survival being interdependent. The product is a 2-part skull, separate cranium and jaw.
