A glassy and rare, double terminated smoky amethyst crystal from the famous Reel Mine in Lincoln county, North Carolina, USA. This high quality, collector’s grade specimen features a large, double terminated, smokey amethyst crystals. The amethyst has an elestial form with glassy luster, pale purple hues and phantom zoning. The fully natural, raw DT quartz var amethyst has textural etched and glossy faces and beautiful translucency. The icy, pale lavender mauve crystal has deeper purple hotspots, phantoms and core. The multiple phantoms show as striped lines within the crystals’s edges. The gemmy crystal shows beautifully when backlit and makes a perfect cabinet sized American display gem. Measures approx 3 by 2.4 by 1.3 inches and weighs 4.3 ounces.
