The cherries produced by the Montmorency Pie Cherry Tree have a rich, tart and tangy taste. Perfect for pies, they produce clear juice and hold their shape through the canning process. The tree is hardy and able to tolerate subzero winter temperatures. Blooms appear in April and fruit ripens in July, yielding an average of 40 to 50 qt. when mature. Hardy in USDA zones 4 to 8.
- Space plants approximately 20 ft. apart for best results
- For best results, grow in well-drained, moist, organic loam soil
- Reaches standard mature height of 15 to 20 ft.
