I've long been captivated by the early FA Cup's history, those amateur teams with their charming names. Travel issues and walkovers often disrupted the draws. In 2002, I bought Terry's Premiership Football game and created my own league using the first 20 FA Cup entrants, rating them all 'touchy, feely'. It was a delightful project. Recently, I revisited Premiership Football and, with Chat GPT's help, created 100 early amateur teams from the 1870s-1880s. I ran two projects simultaneously, enjoying Royal Engineers winning the 19-team league and Old Carthusians defeating Maidenhead 4-1 in the cup final replay. Initially, I had 20 teams in each division and 20 non-league teams. I then expanded to a 20-team Premier League, 24-team Championship, and numerous non-league teams. The final product includes 92 league sides and 100 non-league sides.
