Vintage Hopi nation Kachina doll from Pueblo people. These were sold as souvenirs on Route 66. These figures represented intermediaries between the gods and the people. This one is signed at the bottom, possibly by the artist. Grace Pooley is a common artist but I don’t know if that’s what it is. Perhaps the 75 stands for the year.
This is a vintage item. I purchased a small bag of vintage dolls from an elderly person that did a bit of traveling in this time frame. This does not fit my collection so I’d like to sell to someone that would love it.
These are usually made from cottonwood. It is very small.
