The IST SB-8/Q-R Medium Diver Surface Buoy, Quick-Disconnect Valve, SOLAS Tape from our Dolphin Tech line offers the same great features as our SB8-Q, with the added benefit of 3M’s U.S. Coast Guard approved, maximum visibility SOLAS tape at the upper end. SOLAS tapes offer a bright reflective surface comprised of encapsulated glass lens beadlets and are specifically designed to enhance the visibility of life jackets, ring buoys, survival suits, inflatable life rafts and other safety equipment in marine environments. In low light, nighttime or stormy conditions, searchlights can easily pick up the ultra-reflective surface of SOLAS tape to help rescue boats and divers home in on a diver in distress. The IST SB-8/Q-R is constructed of durable 210D, Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) coated Nylon. SB-8/Q-R can be used as a diver location and signal buoy for pickup or rescue, or to mark the underwater location of diver safety stops during ascent. Either way, it’s an important piece of safety equipment every diver should carry when hitting the water. The SB-8/Q-R can be inflated by BC hose or by mouth; pressure release valve prevents bursting and has a handy dump pull cord for fast, easy deflation. Includes a convenient, sturdy nylon webbing strap loop with a stainless steel D-ring for attachment to a reel, anchor line, or BC clip. For handheld use, rely on the integrated wrist lanyard to keep the marker securely attached to the wrist.
