JUNYA WATANABE, designed by Junya Watanabe, a graduate of the Bunka Fashion College, is a brand within COMME des GARCONS.
Watanabe joined COMME des GARCONS in 1984 and worked as a pattern maker under Rei Kawakubo.
In 1987, he was selected as the designer for tricot, and in 1992, he launched JUNYA WATANABE, bearing his own name, and participated in Tokyo Collection. The following year, he moved his presentation to Paris Collection.
In 2001, he also became in charge of MAN, and in 2002, HOMME. With eye and pink, he is both in name and reality, one of the world-renowned designers and the Vice President and Director of COMME des GARCONS, alongside Rei Kawakubo.
He reconstructs couture of breathtaking beauty for women's wear, and for men's designs, he creates pieces he himself wants to wear, collaborating with brands that cover men's wardrobes, such as
