Each of my illustrations hides animals, humans, or objects. This one features 64 concealed creatures and a Chaz face within a squirrel. I often incorporate my own likeness. I use Rotring Rapidograph pens, as fine as .13mm, on 100 lb acid-free bristol board with a plate finish. Starting with a pencil sketch, I build up details, adding smaller animals until the drawing is complete. The final step is inking it in. These pieces are designed to provide a respite from daily stress, encouraging reflection on nature and its inhabitants.
