The name 'DS-61' is derived from 'Dark Side - 6061', an internal codename during development. Inspired by 80s sportbikes, the design features Clifton's artwork. The 'Dark Side' refers to a less-explored area in the 'One Drop Yo-Yo Universe', a 3D map of physics characteristics created by resident physicist Dirty Birdy. The DS-61, using thin pads and an 8mm axle, maximizes weight away from the center, placing it further left in the universe than any previous model. This results in impressive spin time, stability, and agility, reminiscent of a sportbike.
