New Gold Dream (81 82 83 84) is the fifth studio album by Scottish band Simple Minds. Released in September 1982, it is considered one of the defining albums of the new pop movement of the early `80s. It spawned the singles, "Promised You a Miracle," "Glittering Prize," and "Someone Somewhere in Summertime." Lead singer Jim Kerr said that, "every band or artist with a history has an album that's their Holy Grail, I supposed New Gold Dream was ours."
