This coupling is an unusual robotic disco cover of the opening theme "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" from "Neon Genesis Evangelion"! This single is cut from the latest album "Kaseki Cider's Anisong!! Vacation!" in an 80s homage donut record format!!
This is the second analog cut from Kaseki Cider's serious re-evaluation of anime songs, a cover album. First, side A is a cover of "Seikan Hikou" by Megumi Nakajima, which was the insert song for the TV anime "Macross F" (composed by Yoko Kanno / lyrics by Takashi Matsumoto). Kaseki Cider himself explicitly stated that the concept was a Shibuya-kei parody, and it was rearranged into a guitar-pop tune that quotes the intro guitar phrase from Cornelius' "Taiyou wa Boku no Teki." The chorus features Hideki Kaji and Megumi Mashiro (HICKSVILLE), a truly authentic lineup, making this a miraculous masterpiece cover. The "Kiratto☆" guest appearance by Nemu Yumemi (Dempagumi.inc) is also a big impact, only understood by those who listen! And on side B, they cover the opening theme "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" from the TV anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion." Displaying their signature mashup sense, riding on a disco funk reminiscent of The Jacksons, it's a great arrangement that boldly betrays the original song! The artwork on the jacket continues from the CD, shot by the popular photographer Kotori Kawashima.
