Capturing the cosmos is a breathtaking experience. Standing atop the dormant volcano Mauna Kea on the Big Island felt like being on top of the world. At 14,000 feet, I felt I could almost reach out and touch the sky. As the sun dipped below the horizon, a whole new universe unfolded before me, leaving me awestruck. I'd left the coast at a comfortable 85° but the conditions at the summit were harsh - a chilling 30°. Altitude sickness made me dizzy and disoriented, but I was determined to get the shot. The camera revealed what the human eye couldn't see, and after a 30-second exposure, I was amazed by the stunning beauty of the Milky Way. The telescope provided a human perspective, making this moment unforgettable.
