Nikkor-S.C 55mm f/1.2 + Nikomat FTN Black Body

This is a Nikon combination from the early 70s, with the feel of a block of iron and glass.

■ About the Lens

The Nikkor-S.C 55mm f/1.2 is an old Nikkor lens with a very bright maximum aperture of f/1.2. At its maximum aperture, it produces a unique blur, flare, and three-dimensional effect that current lenses cannot replicate. You can enjoy the "old Nikkor-like rendering" in portraits, night scenes, and backlit situations.

The exterior has fine scratches and age-related wear. There is no noticeable mold or heavy clouding, and the condition is relatively good. There is some dust, but it is not at a level that significantly affects shooting. There is a slight unevenness in the helicoid, but focusing can be done without any problems. This lens can be used with film cameras, and also with mirrorless cameras using an adapter.

■ About the Body

The Nikomat FTN Black has a solid metal body, providing a sense of security unique to fully mechanical cameras. The battery is only for the exposure meter, and all basic shooting operations are mechanical. It is a robust SLR that can still be used today.

The black paint will reveal the brass underneath from the corners as you use it, gradually changing its appearance. This is a camera that you nurture as you use it, rather than keeping it in new condition.

The body has few scratches and is in near-mint condition. The battery chamber is clean, and the exposure meter is working. There is a small amount of dirt on the right side of the viewfinder screen. The light seals currently show no significant light leaks, but please consider maintenance due to its age.
