The Oakton 35608-50 is a conductivity/Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) electrode, with cell constant of K=1.0 for mid-range conductivity measurements. The electrode, also known as a probe, measures the conductivity and TDS of a solution, and is commonly used in testing water, such as pure and sea water, in field and laboratory applications. This probe features stainless steel sensors for specific application, Polyetherimide (PEI) ultem-body housing for chemical resistance, and an 8-pin DIN connection for stability. It comes with a removable, plastic probe guard to preserve the unit. The 35608-50 electrode has a temperature range of 0 to 80 degrees C (32 to 176 degrees F) and is used for mid-range conductivity measurements. Its dimensions are 100 (l) x 12 (d) mm. It is intended for use with the Oakton CON 400, and meters that have 5-pin Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN)-connections (sold separately). It comes with a 3-foot cable. An electrode is used with a meter to measure the parameters of a substance. Conductivity is the ability of a solution or material to conduct an electrical current. TDS measurement indicates materials such as salts, bases or minerals, which contribute to electrical conductivity, within a solution.Oakton Instruments manufactures an array of scientific instruments for research, industrial, and educational uses. Since 1991, Oakton has distributed a wide variety of instruments such as meters, electrodes, and transmitters. Oakton is based in Vernon Hills, IL, and has facilities in Europe, Asia, and China. What’s in the Box?One electrode WD-35608-50One 3-foot cable
