Note: this instrument provides a method to evaluate the leveling performance of newly applied coatings before curing, so as to reduce or eliminate the surface streaks caused by brush coating or other coating. Using this specially designed film applicator to evaluate the leveling performance is similar to the evaluation of roll coating method, but more stable than roll coating. As there are various factors that affect the flow level and sagging, these performance tests should not be confused with each other. The flow level test is carried out on the horizontal test plate, which is not the measurement of the sagging performance. The flow level tester is a U-type film applicator. There is a shallow gap on one side. In the gap, a group of five pairs of narrow V-shaped grooves with equal intervals are cut. Their groove depths are 100, 200, 300, 500 and 1000 um respectively. The two ends of the leveling instrument are 125mm long and can be coated with 100mm drag film at a time. The dragging shall be carried out on the horizontal test board or paper jam according to the usual procedure. It produces 5 pairs of 10 coating traces with different depths. After the coating film is dried, observe the distance between each pair of films, and select the film thickness with small spacing (i.e. when two stripes are close together, there is also a gap with a faint interval) as the leveling data.

• QGP flow level tester is mainly used to determine the relative flow level of liquid coating in the laboratory (the ability to eliminate surface defects during the drying process of coating). This tester is suitable for t3995-1999 standard.
