Idle air control valve 862998 is for use on MerCruiser 3.0L MPI, V-6 and V-8 (305, 350 and 496 cid) stern drive or inboard engines with ECM 555. Proper functioning idle air control valve controls the amount of air needed for your engine to maintain a steady idle RPM speed. Additional gaskets or seals may be required when replacing the IAC valve. See your owner's manual or service manual for more information.
