Carefully made by Ruland in Marlborough, MA, Oldham couplings are comprised of two hubs pressed fit with either an acetal or nylon disk. Oldham couplings disengage if the disc breaks, acting as a mechanical fuse. Well-suited for handling large amounts of parallel misalignment. Nylon Oldham coupling inserts have vibration and shock dampening characteristics and are electrically isolating. Maximum is 4,500 RPM. RoHS and Reach compliant. • Ruland oldham couplings have a zero-backlash balanced design for reduced vibration at speeds up to 4,500 RPM. They can accommodate high amounts of parallel misalignment (up to 10% of the hub OD).
• Acts as a mechanical fuse stopping power transmission during a torque overload. User can combine clamp or set screw hub with inch, metric, keyed, or keyless bore for a high level of customization.
