Sapele African Ribbon striped Mahogany wood veneer 10" x 11" with phenolic backer 1/20" HPL. Similar backing as is on plastic laminate (Formica, Wilsonart, Nevamar) except that this is real wood veneer on the front. Most veneers will darken and be much prettier when finished. Ships flat in between thick cardboard. Other sizes, backers, raw veneer and edgebanding are available. About pictures : Most pictures have been temporarily wet on the lower portion of the veneer to show what the grain may look like when finish is added. Color adjustments have been made to show the color as best as is possible. It is impossible to get photos exactly correct in color, but we have made an effort to do so. For raw veneer or un-backed products, we suggest using the Internet to see what advice is available as opinions vary on the best way to handle that product. Thickness : Paper-backed veneers are generally 1/40” and wood-backed veneers are 1/25”. Raw plain veneer with no backing is about 1/32”-1/42”. How to cut : generally cut with a razor knife or similar tools and some type of straight edge. How to apply : Paper-backed and wood-backed veneers are generally applied with contact cement.
