★ An envelope back pillowcase, also known as an envelope closure or french back pillowcase, is a pillowcase with an envelope-style closure at the end. The closure has two overlapping fabric pieces on the back that meet in the center, leaving an opening for the pillow form to be inserted through. The overlapping panels hide the insert. A traditional pillowcase is open at the end. Envelope pillowcases make it so that the pillow can be tucked in and hidden out of sight when making your bed.
★Envelope backing also prevents the pillow from slipping out of the case while sleeping! Or if your children are anything like mine, prevents them from taking the pillow out of the case easily!
