Hand-built stoneware studio pottery vase with a square form and textured slip decoration. Features a heavy ash-glazed rim with drips and a rich earthy brown exterior with brushed and dotted patterns. Constructed from slab clay with visible seams and an organic sculptural shape. Signed on the base with an incised artist mark.
Measures approximately 6.5" tall and 4.5" wide. Weight is 2 lb 7.1 oz. Interior is fully glazed in a deep brown glaze.
Likely made by a studio ceramic artist between the 1970s and 1990s. Excellent example of expressive handmade pottery with a Japanese-influenced aesthetic.
Very good condition with no chips or cracks.
