I purchased this about three years ago and used it from autumn to spring.
There's noticeable fading and pilling, but it's still usable. Since the functionality isn't compromised, it's recommended for those who only want to use it at home or those who want to try it out. I couldn't find a size chart for this older product, but I recently repurchased a current model and the size feels about the same.
