HMS HOOD, the sole Admiral-class battlecruiser, was tasked with intercepting the German battleship Bismark during WW2, alongside HMS PRINCE OF WALES. On May 24, 1941, Hood was hit by multiple German shells, resulting in its explosion and sinking, with only 3 survivors from its crew of 1418.
