Vans Checkerboard - checkerboard in the main role! Slip-Ons, Old Skools, Sk8-Hi and other well known and proven silhouettes in a checkerboarbyd design. The roots of using this design on Vans shoes is dated back to the end of 70s, when Steve Van Doren, son of the founder Paul, noticed that skaters drew the above-mentioned checkerboard design with black permanent pens on the white soles of Slip-Ons.
