Digimon Battle Spirit 2 GBA

A 2D fighting game based on the Digimon Tamers anime series from the Digital Monsters franchise. Two-player battles are possible using a communication cable.

Instead of depleting character health like in a fighting game, players collect orbs called Spirits that appear when attacking enemies, and compete to see who can collect the most Spirits within the time limit. Players can "Digivolve" by using the power of Calumon that appears on the field, allowing for a major comeback. The coin-based battle system is similar to that of Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game was developed by Dimps Corporation, a company that has worked on many character games for Bandai. This is their first work.

Although it is a fighting action game, it does not use an HP system. Instead, players collect "D Spirit" points that appear from enemies when they are attacked, and compete to see who can collect the most within the battle time. Because there is no HP concept, there is less need for strategic maneuvering such as health management, which is one of the game's selling points, allowing players to enjoy the game without worrying about it.
