This paper mache Easter egg is printed “made in GDR“ otherwise known as East Germany. I think it was made in the 60s or 70s, but it could be earlier. The same design is on both sides features 3 ducks bathing while other animals look on. There is a nice white scallop design around both edges. One inside half is decorated with pretty off white Dresden trim which is missing in a few areas. It measures about 7” x 4”. Nice bright piece to add to a collection. Very nice condition.
"Made in GDR" refers to products manufactured in the German Democratic Republic (Deutsche Demokratische Republik or DDR), which was the official name for East Germany between 1949 and 1990. This mark indicates the item was produced in the socialist state under Soviet influence
