A skilled woodcarver, Geppetto, crafts a puppet from enchanted wood that begins to speak and move. Despite this, Geppetto, a Talking Cricket, and a Fairy with Turquoise Hair strive to keep Pinocchio in line. Ultimately, Pinocchio must demonstrate responsibility and kindness to transform into a real boy. This renowned Italian children's tale by Carlo Collodi was initially serialized in 1881-1882 and published as a book in 1883, presented here in an unabridged version from a 1916 English edition, illustrated by Alice Carsey.
