Released in 1982, recorded in NY. This is a captivating album by trumpeter Woody Shaw, released on the prestigious German label Enja, which masterfully blends modern and . Produced by Host Weber and Matthias Winckelmann.
Features his regular quintet: trombone and percussion by Steve Turre, piano by Mulgrew Miller, bass by Stafford James, and drums by Tony Reedus. You might think "Enja?" but trust me, it's incredibly cool.
Side A features thrilling compositions by the participating members. Side B includes "Rahsaan's Run," a track from the 1978 album "Rosewood," and "Songs Of Songs," the title track from his 1978 album, both re-recorded here. His performances during this period are outstanding, not just during his "CBS" and "Muse" eras. Highly recommended!
1982 German (Enja 4018) original, with label code (LC-3126). This original German pressing is rarely seen these days.
**Important Notes: Please Read Carefully**
