Koishihara ware is the first kiln in Chikuzen, opened by the lord of Kuroda clan in the 17th century in the early Edo period. Since then, the Koishihara ware has been influenced by the original Takaori ware in the pebblem. It has been used by people in the region, but the existence of folk arts began in the early 20th century, it became noticeable. Folk art movement began as the centerpiece of Yagimune Jō (1889 - 1961), and the eye of discovering "people's crafts" or "beauty for use" in folk arts that were not acclaimed in the art history. At that time, it was highly praised by Bernard Reach, British who participated in folk art movement with the joy of Yanagimune, and had a great impact on Japanese pottery world. The jump vessel is a technique that allows you to shape the bowl with a small scale, then apply a cosmetic soil, then rotate the shakles and scrape the makeup soil with a spatula. The shaved part will show the color of the earth and create a unique pattern. Each piece is carefully hand-crafted, and the uniform and irregular patterns are unique to folk ceramics.
